More Info

We are keenly aware that the creation of the world's first school of philanthropy, and its continued success, would not have been possible without philanthropy! Generous donors help drive our mission to increase the understanding of philanthropy and improve its practice worldwide.

Indiana University has been at the vanguard of philanthropy education since the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University was founded at IUPUI in 1987. Led by the Center, IU established the field of philanthropic studies; established the nation’s first bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in the field; and created the nation’s first endowed chair in philanthropy.

Today, we celebrate thoughtful and visionary philanthropic pioneers – like you - who for 30 years have championed education, innovation, and research in the field of philanthropy. Please consider an anniversary gift in honor of those before us who had the brilliant foresight to create a home for the study of philanthropy; and in honor of those today – current students, faculty, alumni and practitioners – who right now are leveraging their learning to improve philanthropy for 30+ years to come.
