The Judson Mead Geologic Field Station (IUGFS) strives to lead the nation in:
1. Teaching geosciences in the field;
2. Field-based geoscience research, both for new knowledge about the geology of SW Montana and better ways to teach geosciences in the field;
3. Development of best practices in field geosciences.
We offer a world-class facility located in some of the most diverse and complex geology in North America.
This fund supports scholarships for students who have been accepted and enrolled in summer field courses at the IU Judson Mead Geologic Field Station. Recipients are not required to be full-time IU students so long as they meet the enrollment goals and admission standards for the field station. Recipients will be students who best exhibit the potential to perform exceptionally well in a rigorous field geology course as determined by the field station leadership.
